MIKEY Williams and Craig Rintoul set a new record for the opening partnership at The Oratory School as they beat Pangbourne College by 80 runs.
Williams scored a fabulous 118 not out and captain Rintoul added 93 not out as the home side racked up a formidable 235-0 in their 40 overs.
This surpassed the 213-0 made by ex-Middlesex man Dan Housego and current Gloucestershire all-rounder Benny Howell against Abingdon School in 2005.
Pangbourne struggled to keep up with the run rate and with Jimbo Buchanan’s off spin snaring four wickets, they were eventually dismissed for 155.
