THE final matches of the season have now been played and in Division One, Our Lady of Peace A retained their title with an unblemished record of 18 wins from 18.

Our Lady of Peace A were 9-1 winners against Curzon Club A, while Kingfisher A won 10-0 against Tidmarsh A and Kingfisher B. 

OLOP and Kingfisher A then met in their championship decider with OLOP emerging 6-3 winners.

Daniel McTiernan won a thrilling contest against Martin Gunn 9-11 8-11 11-5 11-9 14-12, before clinching his team’s victory by beating Stuart Williams 11-4 8-11 11-6 9-11 11-9. 

At the bottom YMCA and Curzon Club A are the two relegated sides.

In Division Two, Sonning Common & Peppard B are champions with Our Lady of Peace C also promoted as runners-up. Sonning Common & Peppard E and Kingfisher G slip through the relegation trapdoor.

Kingfisher J finish as champions of Division Three while Tilehurst Methodists A held on to finish as runners-up, just ahead of Springfield A and Our Lady of Peace D. At the bottom Curzon Club B had a disastrous last few weeks to end up in the bottom two, joining Birch Copse A as the two sides to go down.

Curzon Club C became only the second team to take a point from Division Four champions Tidmarsh E, Linda King and John Walker both getting doubles while Mick Gillard chipped in with a vital win against Isaac Davies 11-4 10-12 11-6 11-4. 

Pre-season favourites Sonning Sports A are promoted as runners-up with Tidmarsh D finishing third.

At the bottom Milestone B and Sonning Common & Peppard F finish adrift of third-from-bottom Kingfisher K.

Tilehurst Methodists D finished their season as runners-up in Division Five after winning 8-2 at Tidmarsh F, Steve Wood and Sam Will both getting maximums. 

Reading FC Community Trust survived a nervy end of season to be champions in their debut league campaign, while Our Lady of Peace F finished the season strongly in third place.

At the bottom BBC Club finished the season five points adrift of next-to-
bottom Springfield C.
