A WOODLEY school has been hailed as a technology hub following its dedication to improving education through technology.

South Lake Primary School has been made one of just 50 official 2Simple Software Professional Development Centres (PDC) across the country.

The centres host training events to help other schools get the most out of the 2Simple tools and resources, which including Purple Mash software, a website which is designed for nursery and primary school children.

The site is designed to help children to explore and enhance their knowledge in a fun and creative way.

Miss Scrine, assistant headteacher at the Campbell Road school said: "We were delighted to become an official Professional Development Centre in the Wokingham Borough hosting the latest Purple Mash product updates to teachers in the area. It is a great opportunity for teachers to feel inspired by the creative tools this software provides and enables us to enhance our innovative computing curriculum for our pupils.”

Andrew Wilkinson, head of professional development at 2simple added: "When choosing centres we always look for schools that are really embracing technology, and use it effectively in the classroom. We regard PDC schools as educational pioneers as they offer advice and guidance to other schools in the area and are a great way for teachers to share knowledge and success stories.”
