POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a distraction burglary in Woodley on Saturday afternoon.

A man, who had offered to do the garden for a 79-year-old woman at her home in Wheble Drive, between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, stole money from her purse when she was distracted.

He is described as white, six foot tall, between 25 and 35 years old, stocky, with short dark/ginger hair.

He drove a white Transit style van with a ladder on the roof and ‘Leisure Time’ written on the side in blue letters.
