The choir visited Specsavers and entertained customers as well as popping outside the shop to sing Christmassy tunes — raising £285 for military charities.
The women, whose husbands are all in the armed forces, were invited by Specsavers’ Jordan Casciello, of Lower Earley.
The 23-year-old said: “I thought it was something we could do to support the festivities in the town.
“It’s been lovely to hear them singing and for the customers walking in.
“People have been giving generously, which is also great.”
