Pensioner dies after road smash

AN 89-year-old woman caught in a road smash in Hungerford town centre has died from her injuries.

The pensioner, from Hungerford, died yesterday in the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, five days after her red VW Polo left the road in High Street, mounted the kerb and was in collision with Hungerford Town Hall at 2.50pm on Wednesday, March 6.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact PC Simon White on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
