Here's Heritage Fashion, a new add-ition to the week-end, and the Here's Heritage Fete will be hosted by Alexandra Vintage and are just two of 43 events taking place across Reading between

September 12-15.

On Friday, September 13, visitors can join Alexandra Dewis for a vintage style evening with a fashion show and expert analysis and discussion from author Naomi Thompson.

The event will be looking back over the last few decades of fashion and begins at 6pm at Reading Museum in the

Town Hall.

Then on Saturday, September 14, from 11am-5pm the Here's Heritage Fete will be held in the Market Place, giving the whole family a chance to celebrate.

There will be a variety of activities and entertainment including art, craft, vintage traders and antique valuation as well as live music from 40s music trio Some Swell Sisters, and performances from Berkshire's StageAbility Stage School. Alexandra's latest collection and accessories will also be on display.

There are a variety of places to visit during the Heritage Open Days and families can find out more about their ancestors by visiting the Berkshire Family History Society at the Yeomanry House home of the Berkshire Records Office in Castle Hill.

A team of volunteers will help to research anyone's family history through millions of records, using many resources including ancestry and British newspaper archives.

The service is available 10am-4pm on Thursday, September 12, to Saturday, September 14, and 11am-4pm on Sunday, September 15.
