Pupils at the Oratory Prep School, in Goring Heath, collected £517 from a cake stall at the Winter Wonderland Fair in December for ReadiFood, which supports families in crisis across Reading and surrounding villages.
The food bank distributed more than £70,000 of parcels last year, and delivers an average of 120 per week, working alongside banks in Woodley, Burghfield, Mortimer and Peppard.
Malcolm Peirce, director of Faith Christian Group, which runs ReadiFood, said: “Our biggest challenge right now is affording to rent warehousing without which we could not possibly operate.
“Financial donations such as this one from the Oratory Preparatory School are an absolute godsend. We are very grateful to them.”
