AN INVESTIGATION into a rape in Reading town centre has been discontinued.
Police were called to Merchants Place, near Icon House, at about 12.40am on Sunday after an 18-year-old woman reported she had been raped.
But following an investigation police have confirmed no offence was found to have taken place and have discontinued the investigation.
Police thanked the media and public for their assistance.
