TWO teenagers have been arrested after a woman’s handbag was stolen in a snatch-and-grab robbery on Friday.
At around 2.50pm a 37-year-old woman had her handbag stolen when she was walking along Chestnut Walk near the Abbey Ruins by a man wearing blue clothing who ran off along Chestnut Walk, across Forbury Road and on to the River Kennet tow path, behind Homebase.
The bag was hidden in some bushes but a member of the public found it and returned it to the woman.
A 15-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released on bail until Sunday, 12 October.
Witnesses should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
