AWARD-winning chef and seafood specialist Rick Stein OBE is coming to Reading to sign copies of his latest book following his journey to Mexico.

The 70-year-old star has had the privilege of cooking for several members of the royal family and has written more than 20 cookery books during his distinguished career.

His most recent release 'Rick Stein: The Road to Mexico' details the unique and flavourful food of Mexico and California and he will be signing copies at Waterstones on Broad Street on November 7 from 12.30pm.

He is best known for a love of fresh seafood and made his name in the 90s with his early books and television series based on his life as chef and co-owner of The Seafood Restaurant in the fishing port of Padstow on the North Coast of Cornwall.

The book features 120 'vibrant' recipes inspired by his journey to Mexico and Waterstones is offering one lucky reader the chance to meet the man himself at the signing table, subject to the event running to schedule.

Cheryl Dibden, events coordinator for Waterstones Reading, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Rick Stein OBE, English chef, restaurateur, cookery book author and television presenter, to the store.

"If you want the chance to win a signed copy, enter our competition with the Reading Chronicle, as one lucky reader will win a signed copy of 'Rick Stein: The Road To Mexico' and the opportunity to meet Rick at the event.

"This event is free of charge and will be very popular so we advise people to arrive in plenty of time."
