A WOMAN has had to leave her home after a burst pipe in the flat above hers.
Wokingham Road firefighters were called to Hadrian Walk East in Whitley after the water pipe burst in a first floor flat.
Firefighter Jamie Fitzpatrick said they were called to the scene at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 13.
"It caused a major leak and flooding into the ground floor flat," he said.
"We isolated the electricity and made the area safe with the help of an emergency plumber.
"The local authority have housed the lady from the ground floor flat in temporary accommodation until the flat has dehumidified and the electrics dried out."
He said the owners of the first floor flat were at work when the pipe burst.
The crew were on the scene for an hour.
