A MURDER investigation is underway and a man arrested after the 'shocking' discovery of a man's body by paramedics.
Police were called to an address in London Road in the early hours of Sunday, December 27, 2015.
Paramedics, who were first on the scene, called Thames Valley Police at 4.20am.
They found the body of a man believed to be in his 30's. The death was treated as unexplained however, following a New Year's Day post mortem examination it has been reclassified as murder.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Steel, said: “This investigations is still very much in the early stages, although this is very shocking news for the community, I would urge them not to be alarmed.”
The victim is yet to be formally identified.
A 36-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
He was arrested during the morning of Friday, January 1, and has been bailed until Tuesday, February 2.
