A WOMAN screamed in horror after a pervert crept up and groped her in broad daylight.

The victim was walking in High Woods, Woodley, shortly after 2pm yesterday when a man pounced on her.

He reached out his arm and touched her inappropriately, prompting her to shout for help.

The pervert, who was being hunted by police today, then fled towards Kingfisher Drive.

A police spokesman said: “Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault which occurred in Woodley.

“The incident happened yesterday between 2pm and 2.10pm in High Woods.

“The victim, a 47-year-old woman, was walking when a man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her by touching her inappropriately.

“She shouted at him loudly and told him to stop, and he then fled in the direction of Kingfisher Drive.”

She described him as a white man with a slim build, between 5ft 3in and 6ft tall. He had dark coloured hair around the side of his head and had either a bald or shaved scalp.

He was wearing a royal blue polo shirt with a mustard coloured line around the collar.
