A MAN has been arrested of suspicion of trying to steal from a church's charity box.
Thames Valley Police were called to the Church of St Deny's in Stanford Dingley, near Newbury, by a member of the public.
The member of the public told the police that a man had gone into the church and tried to take money out of the charity box inside.
A 36-year-old man from Calcot has been arrested on suspicion of theft, and released on police bail until September 4.
