The wet rain turned into white flakes shortly after 4.30pm and traffic has began to build up on the roads.
Areas particularly affected are the A33 heading towards the M4 motorway, as well as the motorway itself.
Weather chiefs at the Met Office revealed a yellow weather warning for snow ub Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell earlier today, followed by an ice warning for Friday January 13.
Forcasters also predicted up to 4cm of snow could settle in parts of the South East.
