With the severe weather Berkshire is currently experiencing many worry that we may endure the same levels of flooding that we saw throughout the county previously.

Here is the most up-to-date information regarding flooding from the government:

Flood warning for River Lambourn from Donnington to Newbury

Property flooding is possible.

River levels are high on the River Lambourn following recent rain and high groundwater levels. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue today February 29 and flooding of properties remains possible in the Shaw Road and Newport Road areas.

The forecast today is for rain, which could be heavy at times. River levels are rising very gradually in response to locally high groundwater levels and water moving downstream.

Levels will remain high and sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days. It is possible that levels will rise again later this week in response to forecast rain.

River Lambourn and its tributaries from Upper Lambourn down to Newbury

Property flooding is possible.

A flood warning is in force for the River Lambourn from Donnington to Newbury.

River levels on the Lambourn and its tributaries are high but starting to fall very slowly following recent rainfall combined with high groundwater levels.

Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue over the coming days and flooding of properties remains possible.

River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are stable along the River Pang and the Sulham Brook. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue today.

The forecast today and tomorrow is for rain, which could be heavy at times. River levels are expected to remain high partly as a result of high groundwater levels, and levels will remain sensitive to rainfall over the coming days.

River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley

Property flooding is not currently expected

River levels are high and out of banks along the River Thames. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue today.

River Kennet from Thatcham down to Reading

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are high but falling slowly on the River Kennet. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue today, especially in areas around Theale and Reading. 

River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are high and out of banks along the River Thames. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue today, and over the coming days.

The forecast today and tomorrow is for rain, which could be heavy at times. River levels are expected to very slowly lower over the next 48-72 hours.

River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave

Property flooding is expected. River levels remain high but are falling on the Thames. Isolated property flooding, in addition to flooding of low-lying land and roads, is expected, especially in the Basmore Lane, Bolney Road, and Loddon Drive areas.

Further rainfall is forecast in the next 48 hours and into the weekend. River levels have stabilised and reached their peak.

Levels will remain sensitive to any further rainfall, however, we do not anticipate peak levels to reach those seen in January 2024.

Lower River Loddon at the River Thames confluence at Twyford

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Loddon following a period of recent heavy rainfall.

Lower River Loddon

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Loddon, following a period of recent heavy rainfall. Therefore flooding of low lying land and roads remains possible today

River Thames for Henley, Remenham, Medmenham and its tributaries

Property flooding no longer expected. The Flood Warning for the River Thames at Henley, Remenham, and Medmenham is no longer in force. River levels have risen on the River Thames in response to recent heavy rainfall.

River Thames from Hurley to Cookham

Property flooding is not currently expected in the Hurley and Marlow areas. River levels remain high on the River Thames in response to recent heavy rainfall. 

Lower River Colne and Frays River

River levels remain high and are likely to rise further on the Colne, Frays, Wraysbury, and Poyle Channel due to rainfall.

No property flooding is currently expected.

Colne Brook at Iver and Colnbrook

River levels are high and forecast to rise further on the Colne Brook and Lower Colne due to rainfall.

No property flooding is currently expected.

River Thames from Datchet to Shepperton Green

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Thames following recent rainfall. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue today.
