Designs have been revealed for what a new brewery bar in Reading town centre could look like once it opens later this year.

Recently it was reported that brewery company Siren Craft Brew would be opening a bar in the heart of the town centre in Friar Street.

Now designs for what it could look like once open have been revealed as work begins ready for a hoped-for opening date in May.

Visuals show the brewery bar having a modern feel, with floral decorations and Siren Craft’s trademark S logo.

The unit is not ready yet, but it will feature a long bar, modern fittings and high chairs.

Explaining the vision for the bar, a spokesperson for Siren Craft Brew said: “The idea behind this expansion is to create a flagship home for our brand.

“Along with the beer line-up, which will include guest beers from all around, we’re also investing in a high-spec kitchen and top team to deliver tasty, street food inspired accompaniments in a space unlike any in the area.

“We want to create a home to showcase independent producers of all kinds.

“We don’t want this project just to be for beer drinkers, first and foremost it should be a place that you and your family and friends, and their friends, want to spend time.

“So wines, cocktails and all kinds of non-alcoholic options will be given just as much attention as the beers.”

The spokesperson also said that there will be space outside so that punters can enjoy pints in the summer.

In closing, addressing readers on the brewery’s blog, they said: “As always, thank you all for your unwavering support.

“We all know the pressures facing the hospitality sector right now, along with the squeezing of personal finances.

“Thank you, and look out for more updates soon.”

Work began on the unit the Siren Craft Brew bar will occupy on Monday, February 26.

The brewery would likely require advertising consent from Reading Borough Council for its external signage, but no planning application has appeared yet.
