Emergency services have rushed to a large fire in a derelict building, not far from Reading train station.
At 3:22pm Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had been called to a fire on Tessa Road.
The building is the former home of the Reading Evening Post and is located opposite Rivermead Leisure Centre.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: "We are currently attending a large fire in a derelict building in Tessa Road, Reading.
"Please avoid the area while emergency services are at the scene."
Crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Newbury, Wokingham, Mortimer, Bracknell, Maidenhead and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an aerial ladder platform, four Officers and crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service.
