A pizza takeaway in Reading might have extensions added to it to create more space for a nearby flat.

That is one of the plans that have been submitted or decided on in the Reading area during the Christmas and New Year period.

Elsewhere, owners of homes have won permission to convert their garages for other uses.

The owner of a pizza takeaway near the town centre has applied to add extensions to the building to provide more space for a flat.

The ground floor of the property, 155-157 Southampton Street, is currently used by Pizza2Night, with a bedroom and a bath on the first floor.

Extensions would create a new bedroom to the rear of the first floor, with the existing bedroom being converted into living facilities.

One of the extensions would be on top of an existing single-storey extension for the takeaway, creating a new entrance for the flat.

The owner of a semi-detached house in Whitley has applied to add extensions to allow the reconfiguration of the living facilities.

The house in Hartland Road currently has a bedroom, bathroom and living space on the ground floor, and three bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.

An infill extension would create a new home office at ground level, with the existing first bedroom being converted into a children’s playroom.

Meanwhile, a first-floor rear extension would create a new fourth bedroom.

The owner of a semi-detached house in Woodley has won approval to add substantial extensions to the home and convert the garage into habitable accommodation.

The house in Arundel Road currently has two bedrooms a bathroom upstairs and a side extension with a garage and bathroom at ground level.

Extensions and changes will create a new living room where the garage was, a rear dining room and a new master bedroom upstairs.

All three bedrooms will have space for double beds after the project was approved by Wokingham Borough Council’s planning department.

The owner of a semi-detached house in Earley has won approval to convert a garage into habitable accommodation.

The house in Lakeside near the Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve has three bedrooms upstairs, and regular living facilities and a garage at ground level.

The garage can now be converted into a ground-floor bedroom after the owner won approval for the proposal from Wokingham Borough Council’s planning department.

The project involves replacing the garage door with bricks and a window in-keeping with the existing house.
