EARLEY Town Council has thanked residents after another successful Green Fair event.

The annual Green Fair was held at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve on Saturday, August 5, with special birds of prey display.

Stallholders from various community groups braved the wet weather to offer advice and information to visitors.

This year there was a new highlight to the event with First Class Falconry displaying birds of prey from Molly the Owl, Lisa the Falcon and Kookie the Kookaburra.

Handler Alan Greenhalgh was on hand to talk to visitors about the birds and give residents the chance to hold them.

Visitors were able to enjoy drinks and cakes from Maiden Erlegh Rotary Club.

The Town Council has thanked residents for “a very wet, but enjoyable day”.

Staff from Earley Town Council offered free children’s craft activities and ran a mini-Helpshop.

Earley Town Councillors ran a quiz with three lucky people winning a bug hotel each.
