AN autistic-friendly festival is taking place in north Reading this weekend, writes Amy Butcher.
A Different World Festival was set up by Simon and Louise Turner for their teenage son Sam, who was desperate to attend Reading Festival but was unable to access it due to his condition.
His parents decided to take matters into their own hands and set up the autistic-friendly festival, knowing their son and others could enjoy himself in a safe and sensitive environment.
The festival will feature music from a host of local bands, including Adam and the Gaslights, Veglio and Burnt Tomorrow. There will also be reptile encounters, circus workshops, craft and food stalls.
A Different World Festival takes place this Saturday (4) at Abbey Rugby Football Club in Peppard Road. Tickets are £20 on the door for adults, or £15 for children. Discounted tickets are available in advance by visiting www.adifferentworldfestival.co.uk
