ASPIRING sailors tested the water at Reading Sailing Club’s annual open day on Saturday.
The club, located in Sonning Eye, Reading, invited those who may have never stepped into a boat before to get out on the water and enjoy themselves.
And residents turned up in their numbers to enjoy a relaxing time out on the lake.
Sally Newlove, social secretary, said the club is urging budding sailors to join.
She said: “The message that we really want to get across is that sailing is a sport for everyone.
“It doesn’t have to be an elitist sport, you can sign up and get a relatively inexpensive boat and have some fun.”
