TRAVELLERS have pitched up at a supermarket car park.
The Chronicle received reports of a group of travellers which had parked up in the Lidl car park in Bath Road, Reading.
Reading Borough Council said the encampment was on private land and insisted the authority cannot act until Lidl bosses apply for an eviction.
A spokesman said: "The Council is aware of the incursion on private land, which means the landowner would need to apply for eviction.
"We understand a number of vehicles have moved on but some remain."
It is believed several of the vehicles moved on towards West Berkshire.
