FOBNEY Island wetland nature reserve is playing host to a Family Wild Day this Saturday.
The Canal & River Trust have joined forces with Nature Nurture to run a number of family friendly workshops for residents from nearby Katesgrove, Southote, Minster and Whitley wards of Reading town.
The range of activities on the day will include pond dipping, cycle tours, wild art and bird-watching.
Local photographer and historian, Chris Forsey, will be giving talks on the history of the Kennet & Avon canal around the Reading area-plus a wildlife photography masterclass.
All visitors are encouraged to walk,bus or cycle to the event as there is no on site parking available.
Gates open at 11.30am and the Family Wild Day closes at 3.30pm.
