A DEDICATED head teacher has been made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year's Honours List.
Suzanne Taylor from Hungerford Nursery School was recognised by the Queen for her services to children and families.
The nursery is a designated National Support School and and holds the Service Level Agreement from West Berkshire Local Authority to lead and provide Family Centre Services for Hungerford and its surrounding area.
Suzanne said: “I was surprised and grateful to be appointed an MBE. I would like to thank those who nominated me and I was delighted to accept on behalf of the whole centre.
"It is as much in recognition of the achievements of the staff and governors who have always worked tirelessly to provide the best provision for children and families in Hungerford and the West of the district.
"The support that we receive from families and of course the children themselves has always been amazing.”
“This honour would not have come without the wonderful encouragement through the years of those around me, my husband and family.”
The nursery provides for the surrounding area and focuses on supporting parents with children 0-5 years.
Lynne Doherty, West Berkshire Council's lead member for Education, added: “This is a great achievement for both Suzanne and the centre.
"It is always good to see such efforts recognised. Suzanne has contributed a great deal to the Hungerford community and I am delighted for her.”
