A VIOLENT thug who beat his partner black and blue before BITING her has been jailed.

Connor Cassidy's victim suffered bruising, bleeding and bite marks after she was subjected to a tirade of horrific abuse.

21-year-old Cassidy was hauled before magistrates where he was convicted of three counts of assault by beating.

He was jailed for 34 weeks.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "Connor Cassidy, aged 21 of no fixed abode, was found guilty following an appearance at Reading Magistrates' Court on 27 June 2016.

"Cassidy's conviction relates to three domestic assaults, two in Reading on the 17 April 2017 and 19 May 2017, and one in Bournemouth on 29 April 2017.

"His female victim received bruising, black eyes, a bleeding nose and was also bitten on her arm and ear."

Cassidy was also convicted of breaching a suspended sentence order and breaching a community order.

Detective constable Nathan Adby, of the domestic abuse investigation unit, added: "Victims of domestic violence should not suffer in silence or live in fear and is urging them to speak out to help bring perpetrators to justice.

"Domestic abuse can take many forms - physical, emotional, financial or mental - and they can involve partners, ex-partners or family members.

"I would urge victims of domestic abuse, or anyone who has information about domestic abuse, to contact us on 101. I can assure you that we will investigate the matter sensitively, and support and keep you safe throughout the process. No-one should have to suffer in silence."
