A GIANT pirate ship has been placed in Arthur Newbery Park following a ‘spring clean and revamp’.
The climbing frame ship joins new bins, benches, picnic tables and furniture made from recycled materials as part of the Park’s recent update.
Councillor Paul Gittings said: “We want residents of all ages to enjoy and benefit from using our open spaces, and I hope the improvements at Arthur Newbery Park, including this fantastic pirate ship I’m certain local children will love, will encourage many more to do so.”
Arthur Newbery Park was awarded £51,600 in November towards an overall package of £348,000 from the Council for improving recreational areas in the borough.
Future plans include improving access to the park around Armour Hill and Oak Tree Road entrances.
