AN ALDI staff member was stabbed in the arm on Saturday July 9 by a man attempting to steal meat.
At around 9.30pm the offender attempted to leave the Aldi on Basingstoke Road with a bag full of selected meats.
He was confronted by a 43 year-old man who attempted to stop him leaving the store.
The offender stabbed the staff member in the arm before running from the store and turning right on Basingstoke road.
The victim was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.
Investigating officer PC Stuart Keys said: “We would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV image as he may have information which could help the investigation.
“If you have any information or recognise the man in the CCTV image please contact police via the non-emergency telephone number 101.
“If you don’t want to speak directly to speak to police directly, please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
