A CYCLIST was left with serious head injuries following a collision which closed Reading Bridge.
The man in his fifties was flown to the John Radcliffe Hospital after his black mountain bike was involved in a collision with a blue Proton car.
He remains in hospital being treated for his injuries.
The crash occurred at around 8.30am this morning (Friday) and saw police shut off the bridge and divert traffic throughout the morning.
It has since reopened.
Officers from Thames Valley Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the collision but no arrests have been made.

Investigating officer PC Gareth Miles, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Three Mile Cross, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.
"If you have any details which could assist with the investigation please call police."
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.25am today following a collision between a cyclist and a car.
"An adult male cyclist has severe head injuries and we are still on the scene."
