BOOKS by famous authors are available at Britain's biggest book sale next week.

It is in aid of of Syrian refugees, and Oxfam hopes to raise more than £1,000,000.

Participating in the cause since the start of October aare Waterstones, of Broad Street, Reading, and Oracle stores.

The Syrian Crisis Appeal has been backed by a host of celebrities and writers including Lee Child,

Philip Pullman, Hilary Mantell, David Walliams and Victoria Hislop.

Selected books, donated by the publishers, will be on sale on Wednesday, November 4, from 6.30pm.

There will be a reading group present to welcome buyers, and nibbles will be provided.

Every penny raised will be donated to Oxfam's appeal.
