The Chequers pub in Eversley is holding a food, drink and music festival this weekend.

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August will be given over to great local and artisan food and drink from across the county.

The two day festival is now in its third year and will include a local produce market each afternoon as well as hands-on workshops like having a go

at making your own sausages and for children they can make cupcakes. Real ales and ciders from award-winning independent brewers including Hogs Back, Andwells and the West Berkshire Brewery.

Head chef Ray Brenner, who recently won the title of Pub Restaurant Chef of the Year at this year’s Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, will be firing up the BBQ on both days, offering a mouth-watering selection of steaks, home-made burgers and sausages, and there will be plenty of live music throughout the weekend, too.

Emma Riddell, from The Chequers, said: “With the return of Chequers Festival we’re once again devoting an entire weekend to celebrating great local food and drink, and great local music in what promises to be our best festival yet."

“It’s the one time in the year that the entire local community gets together to raise a glass to all the incredible producers we have on our

doorstep, something we really champion here in the pub, and have a great day out in the village. We’re really excited about being at the heart of

it."

Tickets for the Chequers Festival cost £10 per person for the entire weekend and under 12’s go free.
