A CLASSIC fairy tale with a difference comes in the form of Cinder-Ella as a re-imagining of the timeless rags to riches tale.
A grandfather is left holding a rather leaky baby and decides to tell his favourite fairy tale. As he’s tidying toys away, he creates the magical world of Cinderella. Using dolls, puppets and an old pram, the grandfather brings the fairytale to life, and even sings a song or two.
Cinder-Ella harnesses the power of the imagination with inventive puppetry, mime and sign language. There’s musical accompaniment from Rossini’s opera and even an aria.
Created for both children and adults this witty performance brings out the magic in the everyday world, encouraging the audience to do the same. But don’t forget about the clock… and what’s all this about nappies?
The show is presented by Krazy Kat Theatre Company, who specialise in introducing young children and their families to theatre.
Their shows are highly visual to make theatre more accessible, including for audiences where English is not their first language, and the Deaf community. Cinder-Ella is performed by veteran Krazy Kat performer Kinny Gardner.
He is the founder and Artistic Director of the company and a Development Adviser to BBC CBeebies.
