Former Reading FC chief executive Ron Gourlay has agreed to join West Brom as a transfer advisor, according to the MailOnline.

Gourlay, who spent 16 months with the Royals between July 2017 and November 2018, will join the recently-relegated Baggies following the departure of former sporting director Luke Dowling last month.

The implications of the spending under Gourlay are still being felt at the Madejski Stadium following a number of expensive deals that ultimately failed to prove value for money.
