Reading Women have announced the signing of experienced striker Natasha Dowie.

Internationally capped for England, Dowie joins the Royals after leaving AC Milan in Italy.

The 32-year-old is well-known to football fans as a proven goalscorer across the world, and joined the Royals on Monday afternoon.

Reading become the 13th club for the well-travelled forward who boasts spells with Boston Breakers in the US, Linkoping in Sweden, Valerenga in Norway and four separate spells with Australian side Melbourne Victory.

A double league title winner with Liverpool and a domestic Cup double with Everton will make Dowie eager to help Reading towards some silverware on her return to home soil.

Last capped for England in 2014, Dowie arrives back in England for the first time in five years with a huge point to prove.

Dowie, who is the niece of former player and manager Iain Dowie, is the first summer signing for Kelly Chambers’ side.
