Reading will host Swansea City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Paunovic's side will welcome the Swans to Berkshire in the week beginning August 9 (although, clubs can mutually agree on an alternative date).
A 2-2 draw with Swansea City in April ultimately marked the end of Reading's play-off bid last season.
The Swans were ultimately beaten by Brentford at Wembley in the play-off final, meaning the Welsh side will be in the Championship for the coming campaign.
Reading will be hoping for an improvement on last year in this season's Carabao Cup.
Luton Town knocked the Royals out at the Madejski on September 15 last year courtesy of a Jordan Clark goal.
The Hatters set up a home tie with Manchester United with that win.
