Reading FC defender Tom McIntyre is expected to sign a new deal at the club after months of negotiations.
The centre-back has become a fan favourite since his emergence over the last two seasons and is now expected to signal his intent to stay at the club by signing a new contract.
Reports have suggested the new deal is expected to run for three years.
22-year-old McIntyre, who came through the Royals academy, is due to be out of contract upon the expiry of his existing deal next Wednesday.
Andy Yiadom, Liam Moore, Michael Morrison and Tom Holmes are currently the only senior defenders in Veljko Paunovic's squad.
Morrison agreed to extend his contract last month until 2022.
