Reading FC defender Michael Morrison felt the Royals deserved to come away with at least a point from the game against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Reading fashioned plenty of chances and had large spells of possession but were undone by a Marvin Johnson set piece in the second half.

He said: "That is the frustrating thing. When we play as well as we have done here, you want to get the points.

"You want to get rewarded for what you have done and the fans at home will just see the result.

"We put a good performance in and a lot of fans made a great effort to come up and we wanted to get the win for them as well.

"Hopefully, they will go back and say we gave Middlesbrough a game and they were lucky to come away with a win and they probably would have been lucky to come away with a draw."

Morrison has settled into life well in Berkshire following his move from Birmingham City in July and he is pleased with his form and fitness at the moment.

He added: "I am enjoying it here.

"It is a good team with some great individuals and it is nice to play with some really good players.

"The team is slowly coming together. If we had scored before they did here, I think we would have gone onto win the game.

"I am enjoying it. It is a different style of football from what I have been playing and I think I have done well so that helps.

"I feel settled in and can voice my opinion in the dressing room and help move the club forward."
