Reading defender Matt Miazga will miss the Royals' trip to Middlesbrough after picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win at Huddersfield.
The Chelsea loanee also missed the 2-0 defeat at home to Charlton and Royals boss Jose Gomes confirmed the USA international would be back in a couple of weeks.
Tom McIntyre has had a virus but is back and will make the trip to the Riverside Stadium.
Tyler Blackett has also returned to full training following a hamstring strain and Gomes said he has a chance of being in contention.
However, Josh Barrett has got a fever and will be assessed nearer the time.
On Miazga's injury, Gomes said: "Matt has been training very hard but we must help him to be stronger and to protect his muscles for the future.
"For the United States national team, he had some problems. He didn't start pre-season with us and he arrived later and he felt a strain but he started playing.
"He now has time to be ready but it is not a serious injury.
"We must give him two weeks more to let him join with us again."
