READING FC Academy graduate Andrija Novakovich has completed a permanent move away from Madejski Stadium by signing for Italian Serie B side Frosinone Calcio for an undisclosed fee.

The striker, who turns 23 this month, joined the Academy in 2014 and twice came off the bench to feature for the first team towards the end of the 2014-15 season – making his debut against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Novakovich went on to spend loan spells at Cheltenham and Dutch second tier side Telstar, before enjoying a return to Holland in 2018-19, playing his football in the Eredivisie with newly-promoted Fortuna Sittard.

Now in the final year of his contract at Reading, the US international has made a permanent move to Italy.

Meanwhile, centre-back Tom Holmes has completed a loan move to KSV Roeselare which will see him spend the 2019-20 campaign in the Belgian First Division B.

The 19-year-old defender made his first team debut in March 2018, putting aside his A-Level study schedule to start in a 1-1 draw with Bolton at Madejski Stadium and become the 47th Academy graduate to represent the Royals’ first team.

He spent the large part of last season recovering from a long-term injury, but returned to fitness to feature for Scott Marshall’s Under 23s in their promotion push last season.

Under contract until 2022, Holmes will now aim to earn regular first-team football in the Belgian second tier.

The versatile defender, who has come right through the Royals’ youth ranks since joining the Academy at the age of eight, could make his loan debut at the weekend when Roeselare travel to Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the league.
