READING FC have slashed the cost of a match ticket to the 500th game at Madejski Stadium to 500p.

The generous gesture extends to both home and away fans in all four stands for the home clash against Burton Albion on Saturday, December 23 (3pm ko).

Royals are expecting a massive take-up on the £5 offer as the game takes place on the weekend before Christmas.

It will be Royals' 500th home game since the Madejski Stadium opened on August 22 1998 with a 3-0 win over Luton Town.

The run includes league matches plus FA Cup, League Cup and Football League Trophy fixtures as well as play-off games.

Reading Chronicle:

All home and away fans will pay just £5 on the day.

The club will also be offering a further bonus on the day when 500 fans will be randonly selected to receive an additional 500 Royals Rewards point on their loyalty card.

In addition, Reading are also planning a 'host of activities' for the family to run alongside the match itself.

Tickets for the clash against Championship rivals Burton Albion are already on sale from or by calling 0118 968 1313 or in person at the Madejski Stadium ticket office.

Reading have also been highly commended for adopting a 'Twenty's Plenty' scheme where all visiting fans to Madejski Stadium pay a maxiumum £20 per ticket.
