Huddersfield Town boss Michael Duff has labelled Reading a 'dangerous opponent' ahead of Saturday's televised clash.

The first meeting between the two teams in the third tier for over 20 years, the Royals and Terriers have clashed in some high-profile fixtures in recent seasons, most famously the 2017 Championship play-off final.

However, the Yorkshire side suffered relegation last campaign and are looking to bounce back under the management of former Barnsley and Swansea City chief, Duff.

Sat in the top six currently, they have lost their last two fixtures and now travel to Berkshire looking to return to winning ways.

"They’re a really dangerous opponent," Duff told media at the John Smith's Stadium. "They’ve got loads of pace in the team and they’re a young team. Sometimes youthfulness becomes inconsistency so we have to prepare for the best version of them.

"We don’t know what’s going on with the noise around the outside and they’ve been inconsistent with their results as well. The best way I would describe them is a dangerous opponent to play."

Last meeting in 2022/23, Neil Warnock's Huddersfield stayed up at Reading's expense, winning 2-0 on the final day of the season.

Jonathan Hogg is the only player- for both sides- in contention to play this weekend having played at Wembley in 2017.
