Reading boss Ruben Selles has hailed the supporters as 'unbelievable' and has vowed to 'keep fighting' despite demoralising news of a latest takeover collapse.
Almost 600 Royals supporters made the trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday just days after news broke of the club's future being put back into doubt by Rob Couhig's failed takeover attempt.
In the build-up to the 5-2 defeat, Selles had spoken of a lack of support for his team and how they will reach a stage where they 'cannot cope.'
Despite the heavy defeat, Royals fans applauded and chanted for the squad as they left the field at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Speaking of the support from fans, Selles said: "The fans have been unbelievable with us. After the press conference on Thursday, we have had a lot of support and comments that they want to show they are behind us. They have been like that since last November. They have been very supportive, and it doesn’t matter if we win or lose, I think they want to see a team and the players fighting for the club no matter which players it is, and that is what these players are doing.
"As we did last season, together we can keep the club in a safe place and give an opportunity for rebuilding maybe in the future. We are going to give absolutely everything, and they feel that emotion to try and support us."
Reading host Huddersfield Town on Saturday in a fixture which is to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
