Experienced goalkeeper David Button returns for his first League One appearance of the season against Bolton Wanderers.
The 35-year-old was a regular last season but dropped out after Christmas in the place of now-injured Joel Pereira.
Last week, young keeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke started, however his first-half blunder proved costly as the Royals lost 1-0 to Leyton Orient.
Influential midfielder Harvey Knibbs is the only other change for Reading, with top scorer Charlie Savage dropping to the bench.
In front of Button is an unchanged back four of Michael Craig; Amadou Mbengue; Tyler Bindon and Jeriel Dorsett.
Savage joins Lewis Wing and Ben Elliott in midfield, with a front three of Chem Campbell; Sam Smith and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan looking to net after two goalless games.
Jayden Wareham and Adrian Akande provide the threat off the bench in what remains a thin squad for Ruben Selles.
Former Reading goalkeeper Luke Southwood is on the bench for Bolton, with Ian Evatt making three changes.
