Reading defender Tyler Bindon is to follow in his mother's footsteps by walking out at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games for New Zealand.
16 teams compiled of Under-23 players have qualified for the prestigious games, with Bindon selected fresh from picking up the OFC Men's Nations Cup over the summer.
Breaking through with the Royals last season to register over 40 appearances and finish second in the Player of the Season poll, the 19-year-old already has 10 full caps to his name for his country.
In Group A, Bindon and New Zealand will face hosts France [including a certain Michael Olise] as well as USA and Guinea.
This honour will rule Bindon out of pre-season training with Ruben Selles side until at least August 1, with League One returning on August 10.
He will become the second Bindon to appear at the Olympic Games after his mother, Jenny, ran out for her country in the women's competition at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
His father, Grant, was captain of the New Zealand volleyball side.
