Non-league Basingstoke Town are generously set to raise awareness, and money, for troubled neighbours Reading at next week's fixture.

The 'Stoke, in neighbouring Hampshire, have proved a strong footballing ally for Royals supporters, particularly in social media as off-field strife has his the supporters hard.

No strangers to turmoil themselves, Basingstoke were forced to move from their historic home at the Camrose after their owner sold it for property.

With the Royals not in action for 11 days due to the international break, Saturday is 'Non-League Day' with football fans encouraged to support local sides.

On this Non-League Day, any Reading season ticket holder purchasing an online match-day ticket can do so at a reduced price of £8 and the club have pledged to donate  50 per cent of the proceeds from each of the ‘Reading FC Season Ticket Offer’ match-day ticket to the fundraising initiatives championed by Reading fan groups.

The 50 per cent donation will be based on the ticket value after VAT has been deducted and is an online-only offer to manage capacity.

Playing in Southern League Premier Division South, table toppers Chesham United are the visitors to the Winklebury Sports Complex.
