Former Reading striker Marc McNulty has moved from Los Angeles to Edinburgh- signing for Scottish League Two outfit Spartans FC.

The 31-year-old joined the club back in 2018 for more than £1m after impressing at Coventry City.

Just one goal in 17 appearances during a four-year spell marked a poor return and his three loan spells yielded just 17 goals.

After two years up in Dundee, the former Scotland international moved Stateside to sign for Orange County Sporting Club last year.

He returned to the headlines after discussing his time with the club, telling the Courier: "But for me, with all the s*** I have seen there (at Reading) over the years, I’m just glad it’s going to be over and I don’t have to go back down there. I would probably be more happy to be unemployed than go through that s**** again.

“I have talked about it before and at some point, I will come out and say exactly what’s gone on.”

However, now the forward has moved to Spartans on a deal until the end of the season.

Speaking of the new signing, Manager Douglas Samuel said, “Marc has trained with us since the New Year and enjoyed it. He’s helped to raise standards in training. It’s an exciting signing and one to lift everyone, all the players, coaching staff and supporters.

“To bring in someone of Marc’s pedigree and quality can only enhance our prospects of ending our debut season strong.”
