Reading captain Andy Yiadom returns to the team as one of two changes against league leaders Portsmouth, with star striker Sam Smith still missing from the starting side.

The Royals, unbeaten in six, moved up to 16th with a 1-1 draw at Fleetwood Town in midweek.

Skipper Yiadom and Smith both missed out in order to avoid injuring the fatigued favourites, but the 31-year-old is deemed ready to feature at Fratton Park.

Midfielder Michael Craig replaces Charlie Savage in the only other change from the game at Highbury on Tuesday.

David Button remains between the sticks, behind a four of Yiadom; Tyler Bindon; Amadou Mbengue and Clinton Mola.

Craig will sit deep in a midfield three with Lewis Wing and Harvey Knibbs, while the front three remain Paul Mukairu; Femi Azeez and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan.

Smith, a fan favourite since returning from Cambridge United, is back on the bench.
