Stevenage boss Steve Evans wishes Reading 'every success' in their battle for off-field stability, but is still eyeing the three points when the sides meet tomorrow.

A first league meeting between Boro and the Royals at the Lamex Stadium, Ruben Selles' side picked up their first League One win of the season against the promotion-chasers in August.

A well-known character in the Football League, the former Leeds United and Rotherham United boss signed Royal full-back Nesta Guinness-Walker on loan until the end of the season.

Speaking following a 1-0 win over Blackpool on Saturday, which took the Hertfordshire-based club into the play-offs, the Scot said: "It’s a real tough game- Reading. They’re a huge club for the level. Everyone, quite rightfully, talks about the league leaders: Pompey, Derby, and Bolton. But you only need to look at Reading Football Club- that away end will be full to the brim and there won’t be a spare ticket in the away end.

"If you look at the fight they’re having, I want us to get three points and I want to wish them every success. It’s a club that has just had outstandingly bad ownership, that’s all it’s had. I’m sure John Madejski, a man I’ve met on a number of occasions, sits in that big house of his and shakes his head."

Reading, two points inside the relegation zone, face six matches in a hectic month which includes three midweek encounters.
