Reading made just the solitary addition to their squad in the winter window, coming in the final hour of deadline day as Arsenal younger Zane Monlouis put pen to paper on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Yet to make a senior appearance in football, Royals fans can be forgiven for knowing little or nothing about the 20-year-old.

Take a look below at what we know.

A Londoner born and bred, the defender has spent 12 years making his way through the ranks with the Gunners.

Reading Chronicle:

Signing his first professional contract in 2020, the 6'1" defender is the captain of Mehmet Ali's Under-21 outfit in North London.

With England Under-15 and England Under-17 caps to his name, the promising youngster has also racked up over 80 appearances for Arsenal's Academy teams, getting regular game time in PL2 and the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Oddly enough, the defender has already made his SCL Stadium bow, playing 78 minutes and captaining his side in a 5-2 defeat to Ruben Selles' Royals in the EFL Trophy before Christmas.

He appeared in all four matches during the lower league competition, captaining his team on every occasion even when the likes of Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira dropped down from the first team.

After losing Tom McIntyre and Nelson Abbey, central defensive cover was very much needed and Monlouis will push Tom Holmes and Tyler Bindon all the way.
